Will I like this?Yes! We've taken all the great bits that our fans loved about the original, smoothed out the rough edges, and expanded on it. While we've added some extra complexity around combat and orders, we've also made the systems quick and easy to use, and included a smart set of defaults if you just want to go with the flow.What are some of the new gameplay features?You have more control over how your survivors breach and investigate locations. You can also equip your survivors with a weapon that they will always use.Some orders have more granular options - if you notice zombies massing to the north, then you can focus your barricading efforts on north-facing entrances.We've also overhauled many parts of the interface so it's easy to see what's going on. The most obvious example is the location layout, but you can also easily check your survivors' skills, injuries and special modifiers.Are survivor relationships important?Absolutely. We've refined the system so you can have more ways to change relationships. In addition to the rumour system, we’ve added a new option: redemptions. This involves one survivor being asked to do certain tasks to 'redeem' themselves in the eyes of another, which removes a prejudice. It's also more obvious what might happen to relationships during a dilemma, so you can tactically choose an option that improves relationships.Is combat still brutal?Combat is still the most dangerous aspect of the game, but you have more control over breaching. For example, you can equip survivors and select how cautious they should be while breaching. Furthermore, survivors are more likely to flee if things are looking pretty grim. Here’s the sequel and I was very disappointed. The game was far too similar to the first, with the types of changes which should have been patched into the first version.I had to get a refund, with the primary reason being the ugly icons that represented actions in the game. I just couldn’t get over how annoying and aesthetically unpleasing these were. They really put me off the game. In a text based game it would make more sense to have the text of what the action is, not an ugly icon/button to perform such an action. Hat’s off to the developer though, as I believe this is a one person show. I do think there is a lot of potential here for another game, but with all the issues resolved.A final pet peeve is that the maps are far too small, in this version and within the first game. I think there could be an opportunity here for exploration within a larger world. I'd also like to see a strong gameplay function to make your mark in the world so you have a spot that feels like home, rather with a goal of purely surviving and/or escaping.. Did you try the first Zafehouse Diaries?If yes and you some what enjoyed it, than this one is a must. Much better options and its like the first one but more rounded out... Right now the game is $6.99What are you going to do with $6.99 in your pocket?I know what I'm doing... Killing zombies and exploring houses and recruiting new NPCs to help with my journey.. You've got your team of misfits drawn randomly each scenario. Then you have to make the most of it and it is quite a difficult challenge.* Figure out who is best for the task and then puzzle a routine so that the others don't get annoyed one of them isn't pulling his weight. * Spread rumours to heal/hinder relationships.* Kill zombies and outlaws* Kill the occasional old lady who wants to trade with your band of misfits.Cons:* Settings are quite poor. The intro theme is amazing but you cannot have it play during the map. * There's no music during game play.* The UI could work a little better although it is functional.All in all this is a fantastic little game and generously priced.. Its pretty straight forward. The customization is what makes it good though. :). As an avid player of the first game, I absolutely love this game. If you played and enjoyed the first one, you'll love this one. If you have any second thoughts about this game, buy it then play the tutorial. It should be done under an hour if you're quick enough. And if you dont like it, then refund it. This game is great for killing time. It's what I expected. Zafehouse with more options. Yes, there are bugs to be ironed out, but nothing serious. It's definitely worth its pricetag.
